Yesterday’s release of Fading, the latest track from Melbourne Australia’s Retro Culture, did not disappoint.  “No I’m not myself,” the first words of the chorus, layered over several synths and what sounds like an expressive slightly muted guitar riff, may actually draw you out of yourself for a moment as you listen. In the premier for the track from Perth’s PileRats.com, Troy Mutton reports that it was inspired by the Netflix series Stranger Things. Troy describes the track as “warm” and “hazy.” While I agree on the latter, I feel more of a chilled ambiance that suggests a sense of separateness from a scene, perhaps city streets at night.
